@Dave when I work with My List, would it be possible to add the white box to the top of the list that is available when I look at other folks' lists where I could choose to display only those I "Have" rather than all of them? The other drop box might also be helpful as well. And perhaps even move my personal categories into this box, although they are fine on the left. Mine just look a bit messy because I have several categories, but not a hindrance. Nothing pressing, I realize you are in the midst of a lot of programming at the moment.

Deb if you click on "view your list" instead of "manage your list" those helpful check boxes are present. If I need to narrow the field, I almost always use this route. Smiling

And, then can I access my list from the view screen? Seems like I remember not, but I'll go try. A fairly easy work-around for me would be to just ditch all the wants and used to haves and only keep my haves in my active list. But, seems like since it is a drop-down choice, should be able to sort by it. I'm not a programmer so have no clue how this all comes together.

No, can't edit from the view screen. But, the work-around from there appears to be open the database file, then click on 'in your list' which then pops me over to the manage side. Seems a bit convoluted but workable.

I'm planning on diving into the lists feature sooner rather than later and I will definitely give consideration to your good proposals/ideas you presented here.

I'm sure you already have it listed as a possible goal for List features, but one of my top Wish List items is ways to search, filter and browse multiple people's lists that are offered for trade or wanted for trades.

Starting at one particular plant variety, or one person's list, isn't my preferred approach. I would rather search everyone's lists at the same time, but specify general things like genus (or genus and species), or common names like 'tomato" along with characteristics like "determinate" or "cherry" .

Or "lettuce", "romaine type" and "recommended for summer" (although that last category is not a data detail in the Lettuce database, and hard to define anyway).
