I know you're right Calin! And I realized if I make one the right size I can fill up one of my many "bins" (which hold all my years of collecting "precious" art supplies) with water and let the pot "cure" in there, at my art studio, which would make it much easier to regulate temperature!! ( this was a very exciting idea that I came up with last week, and then you post these, and David posts his link...motivation for sure!) Rolling on the floor laughing

Its going to be great seeing what you come up with Greg!
Your window box treatment has given me ideas too Calin. I will need to make one soon, and I like the way you did it in fitting sections...

You know the even portions of each recipes of perlite, 100% Portland cement, and sifted Peat Moss is foolproof. I add a little extra Moss and Perlite or vermiculite for a little lighter pot on occasion.
I just leave them in the mold for 6 hours or so and pop them out. This is the time to drill holes or do your etchings if desired.

I spritz them down after this and cover with plastic sheeting or bags for a day. After that now I just sit them in the yard in a shady area somewhere and hose them down a couple of times a day while I'm watering and they are ready to go in not much longer then a week!

(don't believe some sites that will tell you that you can get away with sand mix. Lots of time the mix is too sandy these days and the pots will crumble.)

Oh, Excellent! I agree with everything that has been said by everyone else and I am so envious of that view....a view that is really enhanced by your troughs, good eye that you have there.

I also keep thinking of making some troughs and putting it off, but each time I see this done I am moved one step closer to doing my own...lol..so thank you for reminding me.

I have to add that after seeing your view, I looked up images of Romania online and that's a truly beautiful country that you have there. The living history of the buildings / architecture would be a daily inspiration.

I love your project too. The container shape and placement really look great! I tried a hypertufa once with a crumbly mess result, so I also agree with Gypsi I agree on the 2 comments

David, I love those pots! May be easier to just buy one instead of trying to drag 90 lbs of cement!

I share this sentiment; I remember trying to buy a bag of cement at our local HD and I had the guy split it in two for me because there was NO way I could have carried that. He said 'but I'll put it in your car for you' and I replied 'You'll have to come home with me then because how would I get it out' Hilarious! (DH was traveling at the time....)

Where are you Calin? Smiling

Send us some new pictures soon. You're balcony view and world is interesting to us! :tiphat:

Rumania is beautiful!

What other pictures of your area are your favorites?

It would be fun to see the gardens in the place across from your view at street level as you walk by for instance; or maybe a favorite country garden you love near you..... I'm all ears! Thumbs up Smiling

All the best,

David

Love the view Calin!
Cheers I tip my hat to you.

Thank you all.
PROBLEM: Romania does not have gardens! Or... full stop.
I haven't seen a private garden (meaning, around someone's house) that should make me stop, say WOW and take a few pics.
Nope.

Calin.....
It certainly does not have to be gardens...anytime you see something that you think has value, beauty, or is of interest in any other way, I would love to see it and I'm sure the rest of us would also. Your view of Romania will most likely be my only view of Romania forever....if you have the time, share with us and we will appreciate it........

That wouldn't entirely surprise me about the gardens. Jordan is the same way.
