Beautiful seedlings! I think #2 and #4 (the first one you posted) are really exquisite, and #3 that has LL&A as the pod parent looks like it's picked up those beautiful ruffles from LL&A -- very nice! So are these all keepers at this point? You mentioned there were also some others that bloomed that weren't nice enough to photograph, and I'm wondering if you also keep them at this point to check blooms further on through the season to catch a "sleeper", or do you compost them right after the first bloom cycle if they're not what you're looking for?

Betty all seedlings are kept for two years before composting, a few make a change for the better the second year, and they do not all bloom the first year so I have to keep them that second year. As far as sellection, I do that on rebloom, I get a better idea of bloom size and scape hight and branching. If they don't rebloom I will not keep them.

Michele just email me what day you would like to come and we will try to be here. Your welcome anytime even if we are not here, you know where everything is located.

Thank's for the comments everyone, more to come.

For you who hybridize here's a cheap way to make a hanging tag that last year after year. You need a mini blind, cut to 2.50", a hold punch, and a box of small paper clips. I write the pollen parent on the tag with a #2 pencil. If I want to use that same tag later for another pollen I just draw a line thru the first one and write the new one below the old. Yoy can use both sides so you can use it many times. I use these if I am only going to use a certain pollen only a few times,or when I hybridize in the seedling beds, the tags are much easier to see than the colored paper clips I use in the hybridizing area.I would guess they cost less than a penny a piece and they are a lot better than the paper tags. All three are beautiful seedlings, Fred! But I'm always a little partial to the ones that have subdued color etchings that blend into other colors, so perhaps #3 would be my favorite -- although I think #2 is also fantastic. Let's face it -- Love 'em all!
