I don't know why, when one uploads pictures that are properly aligned, ATP rotates them. It happens to my pictures all the time. The only way to know is to look at the "preview" and see if the picture is right. For example if ATP rotated the picture to the right, and the picture is now on its side, I delete the picture, go back into my Kodak Easy Share, rotate that picture to the left, and then when I re-upload it, it will be properly aligned. Perhaps there is a better or easier way to do this, but that's what I do.

Perhaps one of the computer experts on ATP can tell us why our pictures get rotated.

The reason it's so hard to lose weight when you get up in age is because your body and your fat have become good friends.

Your camera is storing the photo sideways and then your software is displaying it to you properly (making it merely appear that it's oriented correctly). But then when you upload it to ATP it's going back to the way the camera originally recorded it.

OK. Is what I am doing the best way to re-orient it?

It works. I also use a software program on my computer to rotate images before uploading them.

The main problem is these software programs that display them auto-oriented for you, giving you the false impression that the image is properly aligned.

It's a situation that I have been thinking about for a long time. I've experimented with autocorrecting them on the ATP server but it's unreliable and sometimes rotates images that didn't need rotating. I expect eventually I'll get this figured out and we won't have to worry about it.

Can you view 'thumbnails" of your photos on your computer, without using any particular application like "Kodak Easy Share"to view them?

On my OS (Windows) I can change the "Folder View" to "Thumbnails" and see the photos "bareback" and know which ones are actually rotated.

Or viewing individual photos with "Microsoft Office 2010" shows me which are (really) rotated. I'm not sure what the equivalent would be in your operating system.
