Dave, something has changed in the database for Jovibarba. The parent plant entry is gone.

It's right here, Lynn:

It's not in the list of "child plants." You have to click on "Access the generic Jovibarbas entry" instead of clicking on "Browse the full list of jovibarbas."

You probably should edit the information in that entry. It now starts: "Jovibarba is a small genus of five species." It's not a genus anymore, so you should reword that passage.

Again? I think that happened because some plants were being shown in various special databases strictly on the basis of a synonym, so Dave reprogrammed the system to give precedence to accepted names. Now that the Jovibarbas have Sempervivum as their accepted name, the Jovibarba Database was wiped out by that change.

Yep, this is like a whack a mole game and it's entirely my fault.

I updated the code for this part of the database again this morning, and I thought the change I made was a good one. But it went and broke the system between Jovibarba and Sempervivum.

Please don't change anything. I know what caused this and although I have no time right now, in the morning I will make it my top and first priority to get this resolved.

My note to self says:

// I need to fix this. Compare Sempervivum with Jovibarba. The former has a genus only so it should
// catch everything in that genus. But Jovibarba has the same genus with various species. So it should
// catch "everything else"... But Sempervivum is snarfing them all up. Figure it out!

Thank you Dave.

Zuzu, I redid the Parent plant information:

Can I add photos to that?

I don't know about the photos. I think I'd wait until Dave fixes everything tomorrow.

You can add photos to that parent plant, yes.

Tomorrow I will restore link between it and all the child plants. For now they are hiding in the Sempervivum database.

Thank you. Smiling I'm still working on it actually but yes, for the moment the Jovibarbas are all lined up properly.

I still have a few odds and ends to fix but I think I've resolved this once and for all.
