This beauty was on the red turks cap...first time for me seeing one. The pictures do NOT do it justice. It was really striking against the blooms Hurray! The pic that looks black and white was shot looking to the sky, but I thought it was a neat shot Shrug!

Great pics...I miss them...they don't often get up here!

Poor baby was missing part of it's right wing, but it didn't seem to bother it.

gingin, I saw one for the first time this year too. She hung around for about a month. I say she because she layed eggs on the passion flower but I never did see any catarpillars.

Ginger, it is a Blue-tonged Lizard. It is one of the largest skinks in Australia (@13") and a live bearer. I love them in the garden because they are voracious snail and slug eaters - you can see the strong jaws. This one is usually resident. They are slow moving and can be overlooked and have a hissing, blue-tongue-protruding-threat-display that can take a few years off your life if you are caught unawares.

Ginger, I liked the color contrasts in the zebra Longwing series.

Wonderful shots Gin! Thumbs up
I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others.
