I know I've posted this before, forget if it was here or on DG, but never did get a definitive ID. This gets about 2' tall, blooms in June, red stalks, perennial. I am cleaning out this bed and find that it roots itself where the stalks have fallen. It almost always gets those brown edges to the leaves, not sure what's up with that. Any help? If not, I'll try to remember to get more photos this coming spring/summer. I think I may have gotten this at a garden get-together, and have lost track of many of the DG PNWers.

Blooms remind me of Kalmia (Mountain Laurel) but I really don't know .. sure is pretty though!

Thank you, all. Persicaria campanulata is the winner! @Thalictrum I noted you posted a photo in the database from your garden and you also had a bit of browning along the leaves. Do you know what causes that? Mine gets that every year and I don't see any bugs. I did note that this can be a bog plant, so perhaps it needs more water, although mine doesn't ever get droopy like it is thirsty. ??

I just had a look at the picture I submitted and noted the brown edges. I never noted them before or just took it for granted as I love this plant as it blooms for months at a time. I have never noted any bugs on the plant. We did however have a very dry summer, so it may be related to lack of water.

Now that I know this is a persicaria, the edge browning may well be too much sun in my case. This is sited in a spot that gets morning and some afternoon sun, I may have to move it back into the shade a bit more. Could just be a bit of sun scorch. My plant is otherwise healthy also, no bugs and grows well.
