I use that as well, but it doesn't seem to stick very long to my wood framed GH. The spray stuff looks like a good, quick temporary fix, and also a good way to hold things in place while working on permanent solutions.

Of course the purpose of a true alpine house is to manage rainfall, not so much heat. But they can be adapted (to some degree) to the requirements of differing applications.

But it seems everyone is approaching this from the wrong angle.
Do you want a greenhouse or an alpine house? (Which fills your needs?)
---- A greenhouse that is always closed, and vented in some way to let excess heat out.
---- An alpine house that is always open, and only closed during cold snaps (relative to needs).

In my case, ---- An alpine house that is always open. I'm not planning to grow any species in it that aren't hardy in my zone.

This might work as both an alpine house and a good spot for a nap!

Oh, I didn't know there was a name for what I need! There's only so much space on the front porch, and more & more plants that don't appreciate occasional tropical monsoons! This is much better than kicking DH's car out of the carport. (Shh! He doesn't know about this thought.)

Arlene, that's SO pretty!

This is exactly what I had in mind! Hurray! We already have one section of porch roof covered with the clear corrugated plastic, and it's held up very well. Thanks, Arlene!

Looking at this picture will definitely help me figure out the "pretty" work on my own little house. Thumbs up

Wow! All 10 of them hit me! Thanks. The photo probably came from Pinterest, a great site for dreaming.

I love that little building, by any name anyone wants to give it. The idea of being away from anything electrical, free of TV, radio, computer and phone is heavenly. If Eve had it I bet she wouldn't have bothered with the apple!
