She says yes. It is showing up on my accounts page as one of mine, when I scroll down looking for the control panel it's not there. Could she have me listed as mod instead?

Last year, our lowest temperature was 25ºF. Even though I covered my 2 Jamie Brugs with burlap, bubblewrap and then a fiberglass pot, they both died and didn't return. My Audrey Hepburn was bigger and a bit hardier and survived, but she didn't start blooming until August. Because our temperatures can fluxuate so much, I didn't feel comfortable leaving the bubble wrap on all the time. So I'd run out to wrap my 3 Brugs just before every freeze. I have more than 3 Brugs, but all the others are in pots. I was curious about how they would do in the ground using some of the techniques others mentioned.

In November, my DH made a PVC frame that we covered with thick plastic. I covered Audrey Hepburn with frost cloth rated to 24ºF then covered her with the frame and tied it down. She weathered the first 3 freezes really well even though the first freeze got down to 23ºF. A bit damaged, she even continued to bloom inside the mini-greenhouse. The first strong wind we had tore the plastic off. I ended up having to improvise. This is what she looks like right now — a great big cocoon. Under that cocoon, she is wrapped in 2 sets of C-7 Christmas lights, has 4 - 45 gallon garbage cans full of water surrounding her and one layer of frost cloth. Temperatures under the cover have stayed nice and cozy even the outside temperature got down to 13ºF one night. I'm hoping she'll take off as soon as I remove the cocoon.

Veronica...I thought I went to extremes to grow some of the plants I love, but I think you've got me beat! Only because I hadn't thought of some of the measures you are taking...

I was brand new to brugs last year, but had what I consider to be a measure of success, since I only had a slight clue as to what I was trying to do. That measure along with the fact it looks as though I may have successfully wintered over at least one (out of two) has empowered me, so now I need more!

I ordered two cutting on eBay last year from a recommended vendor. Expectations were low, based on where I live, but I got blooms!

Not sure if the first was labeled correctly as it is listed as a double and bloomed as a single, but I don't care...It was gorgeous!

Barbara,
Yes, we do whatever it takes for them. My greenhouse heater always runs out of propane between 2:00 AM and 3:00AM. :-)

In another Brug thread, JT said all doubles and triples tended to throw some singles. This is especially true when the plants are small. Maybe its next flush will produce doubles or as your Brug gets older. Here's a photo of DayDreams' bloom from 12/16.

I have a 3' Rubirosa that started blooming in October and blooms for weeks and weeks. I cross pollinated her with Wild and Crazy. She has 4 seedpods. This is my Rubirosa

I crossed a number of Rubirosa's blooms to this one — Wild & Crazy.
