Hi Charleen, I'm Charlene also (dif spelling though). You call your mule Charley, when I was a kid (many moons ago) everyone in my family called me Charley. When I go to reunions, the cuzzins still call me that.
I am going to have some brugs to trade this spring. I took lots of cuttings and most have rooted.
The brugs that froze this year may very well come back for you. I have a few that I leave in the ground and they freeze and come back every year. Now I don't know about this year because it got down to the teens and stayed that way for several days. I took cuttings of everything though.
The cuttings that were taken above the "y" will bloom the first year. The other cuttings may take a few seasons before blooming. I had one that took four years before it bloomed, but I must say it was worth the wait.
If you want the more expensive ones and are willing to wait a while, you can buy cuttings below the "y" for a lot less than the ones that will bloom right away.
