Water Your Plants with Coffee

By vic

If you have leftover coffee in your coffee pot, once it's cooled, you can water your plants with it. Do not use cream or sugar though. I have no scientific evidence to back this one up but I have a house plant that is 14 years old that gets the coffee remains and it is so healthy.

This is a great idea! Testimony: I have a Geranium that had been looking quite 'puny'. Not really blooming nicely, and leaves looking sort of 'icky'. I saw your tip, and started watering it with my leftovers…Tada! It's looking great, and blooming like crazy! It was just the 'jolt' that it needed! Hilarious! Thanks for this tip!

Vic ...

Can we do the same thing with outdoor plants ... assuming it's not freezing outside ?

The Geranium that benefited from this is outside. Don't see why it wouldn't help. Coffee grounds are great for your compost, and I've also had luck in getting rid of ant mounds with them! I agree Go for it! Thumbs up

@terrafirma ....

Yes, I'll give it a try. Hilarious! I almost asked you what you did with your kitchen scraps when your compost pile was frozen, then I noticed you lived in Florida. Why do I think of those questions when I am responding to someone who may never have a frozen compost pile ?

I get rid of ants with cinnamon.

Hilarious! Yes, I've never had a frozen compost pile! Hilarious! Cold, but not frozen!

Never heard of using cinnamon on ant mounds! Sounds like one to try! Wondering what it is about cinnamon that would kill?/make them run/relocate?
