Has anyone had their brug produce twin blooms. I'm talking about 2 fully formed brugs coming from the same bud. I had posted a picture last year one of 2 on an otherwise normal bush. I just happened to walk by the bush and broke off a branch. I picked it up planning to put it in water and I noticed 3 double buds again. I don't know if they will continue to bloom in water but I took pictures of the 3 buds.

In this photo, you can see where it hasn't split yet but the 2 flowers are definitely distinct

again more developed than the last and 2 distinct blooms

Is this the same branch that produced the twinning last year?

yes it is

If that branch produces only twins and continues to do so, you've got something very different. Take good care of it.

Got one! This one is a Rubirosa x Sam cross. I nicknamed it "Chang and Eng" after the famous Siamese twins who traveled with P.T. Barnum. Although this one was a double double, the rest of the flowers on the plant were single doubles (did I say that?).

Sounds like a lot of double talk to me.
Is it common for them do to this Liz? I couldn't find reference to it anywhere.

I've grown Brugs for years, and this was my first "Dubba Dubba" bloom. Pretty uncommon, but a real cutie.

sorry to hear that Liz. I didn't know you lost that one as well. I was lucky that the few I have, mostly NOIDS, survived the freezes. I took a couple cuttings as backup.
