Wear or make a carpenter's type apron with pockets for holding small hand-held garden tools, seed packets, plant ties, and anything else you might need while working in your garden.

Any piece of clothing with pockets is a must when out in the garden. I like to wear the "scrub" tops so I have pockets for a little of everything. Great for holding my MP3 player while listening to my oldies too. Love pockets!! nodding

Several years ago I bought a chef style apron at a thrift store, just for this! It's one of those bib types, with a deep divided pocket across the bottom. As I plant my seeds, I move them to the other pocket, and I have plenty of room for labels and a marking pen. It was a good 75 cent investment! I couldn't garden without pockets!
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.
