A pretty amazing place, Julie, thanks for posting! How would a visitor from afar go about finding it - what's the nearest town, and the closest airport or train station?

Here's the website for the Living Desert http://www.livingdesert.org - it's in Palm Desert, CA, 15 minutes from the Palm Springs airport in the Coachella Valley or "the Desert" as we call it!

I'm imagining going back to see each "season," an inapt term aa well!

It's the only botanical garden in the area & it's a beautiful collection of rescued animals and native plants. Great gardens!

Thanks, Julie! I'm hoping to take a trip to California some time in the next year or two, and I have added Palm Desert to my list of places to visit.
