A fellow named Milton Carpenter breeds heat tolerant Cyms down in the Everglades. His operation is called Everglades Orchids, and he used to sell to the public, but now markets his hybrids through Carter & Holmes in SC. Anne, that might be a fun field trip for you some time. Any Cymbidium with 'Everglades' in the name is one of his heat-tolerant hybrids. (edited to add) Also if they have "Carpenter" in the name.

Got a better shot of my purple Spathoglottis.

Carter & Holmes - that's in Newberry I think .. definitely worth a trip and thanks to Ursula for the zone list! Definitely going to be adding to my terrestrial orchid collection!

Anne, I would think the numbers assigned to the Cym species is not a zone list, but tries to rank them say from 1-10 according to their warmth tolerance. Sorry, if that was misleading.
