Is it difficult and expensive to get them to reverse cycle?

No light setup is used at all. First some were placed in front of a western window, and others were in front of a eastern window, and yet others were in fron of a southern window.

Of course, the latter bloomed first, and many have spiked, and will bloom soon.

All are recycled as they finish blooming, and others are ready to bloom.

That is impressive, Gerry. Love the patterned ROW and that it is blooming in January in northern Indiana is awesome!

Mike,

All this is part science experiment. I greatly enjoyed when my sons were very young and were assigned science projects. And yet, science and mathematics were my only C+ in high school.

I am recording data and I will follow these plants for the next two years, outside for the summer, and back in the house for the winter.

All of these plants arrived in early October and I prepared a rather wealthy potting mixture with the intention of continuing growth through the winter.

I will write an article soon and detail more the information I have. And of course, after two years, unless I am dead or senile, I will write a much more conclusive report.

I am also experimenting with seed germination. But that is another project.

Sorry, just reposting this Noid of mine mentioned earlier on another thread. I have checked the old catalogues from where I bought it (wrongly sold to me as Ultraviolet Mood). It actually matches a description and photo of REINE DE VIOLETTES in it.
However, the ATP database does not have very good pictures to help here. Has anyone got REINE DE VIOLETTES or can comment?

Sure looks like it from Google images. Big variance of color there, too, Cindy, but I see consistent form and patterning.

This is a seedling that bloomed for the first time
last season. I have no idea what form it is. If anyone
has something similar, please educate me.
Would this be considered a pattern?

It blooms consistently two ways. On rebloom, it
also bloomed two ways. Perhaps due to
weather/water conditions, or just its natural way
of bloom. It is my favorite from last year because
of the glowing appearance.

Great thread, great photos, and really educational.

Shirlee, that's really wonderful and unique! Hope you don't destroy it before it has a chance to put on a show for you -- maybe it will be really incredible, and I do love the lavender touches on it!

Betty, I'm keeping this one even if it does not increase well.
Just to see what it does when well established. It's pod
fertile, but don't know about the pollen yet. And, so far,
two fans. That's not much of an increase, but it is
squeezed in among the other seedlings. Oh, and thanks
so much for the gracious comments.

Is Spacecoast Seashells worth having or is it dated?
