I purchased seeds from Everwilde Farms at the end of November and still no seeds, so I emailed them and they tracked the package to a certain post office where they arrived but never left and the postmaster could not explain. They have shipped me a replacement order and I am just thrilled with the way they took care of the whole problem and never gave me a negative remarks or asked ME to check into it. They took care of the whole thing. I know they are a top 5 Watchdog company and they earn their rating, but I will be leaving them more positive feedback!

In the past I have had good seeds from Summerhill, Swallowtail, Diane's, T's Flowers and things, Burpee, and Harris. Also, Thompson & Morgan. Had problems with packaging on T&M seeds but they sent free seeds when we complained about the problem (so far haven't changed packaging yet though)

I get a lot of mine from Pine Tree Gardens because they have smaller amounts of seed at a reasonable price. I also get some seed from Jung as they have some seeds for shorter seasons. Sometimes from other places like World Seeds and Swallowtail because of the great variety they carry.

I also have purchased from Swallowtail and Diane's, I first met her on the Hog Wild Seed Swap. She is very nice.
Before I came to ATP I loved to shop for seeds on eBay. I had a bad experience with a hosta purchase which made me rethink purchasing plants or seeds from eBay. For one thing, by the time they bloom your buyer protection will be expired. So if you shop on eBay try to get a real email address from the seller because you will not be able to contact them at all if your transaction number is expired and it will expire in 90 days. After 90 days there will be no trace of a transaction. I still order from the people I know.

I do not buy a lot of seeds from mail order since I can get most locally. I have ordered from Swallowtail and Harris seed with no problems.

I buy from Territorial Seed (either via mail or my local feed store) as they specialize in seed that grows in my geographic area. Keeping it local.

I ordered Salvia from Harris Seeds, they should be here any time now. I always feel like a get a good deal there. They had 250 seeds in each pack so that is plenty for me and also some to put on my trade list.

I was shopping for Petunias today after seeing a random plant. They have these at Swallowtail. Drooling

Very pretty. I have four packets of petunia seeds, too tired to get up and look to see what kind but I'm going to be planting them in a few minutes. I did a ton of planting in vermiculite today and just have to finish up these petunias yet. I sure hope some of them germinate! Some were really old seeds. Sometimes I just dump them all in the soil when they're old since I don't know how many will germinate!

Okay, the seeds were from Thomson and Morgan. Now, they used to be a great company but the packaging they are using now is the absolute worst that I have seen. Petunia seeds, NOT PELLETED, 12 in a package, NOT in a glasine envelope, just loose in their heat sealed on all sides envelopes! I had to carefully cut a slit on the top and let the air in to try and let the tiny seeds stuck in the top crevice to fall down. Then I carefully cut the top off, then gently tore one of the side seams all the way open to get at the seeds. Most were stuck in the heat sealed seam! Arggghhh! And I think the seeds may have actually been pelleted because there was some kind of white powder in with the seeds. Now, most companies put tiny seeds in a smaller envelope at least and pelleted seeds are in those little plastic viles. Not these!

The ironic part is I had some Thunbergia seeds from them as well and they were in a smaller envelope inside the big one. Go figure. I have to remember if I ever order from them again (doubtful) that I SHOULD NOT order any seeds that are tiny!!!

Should I be on the GRUMPY thread? Hilarious!
