Debra…Thank - you. I agree I like the shape, and bi-color on this one, almost impressionistic in its appearance with good stats. This is what Ed wrote about B-25a in his description:

" B-25-a (New Tangerine Twist X Wild Child) Dor, Tet, E, 6.5 x 27, I got this as a single fan from Greg Youngchild in 2012, one of 3 pod sibs, This one in my mind might be the best of the 3 but I reserve the right to change my mind in a few years after they all clump up, B-25-a has a broken color pattern that I saw on most every bloom. It also bloomed over a 6 week period, not constantly or on a daily basis but it sure took a long time before the season was over, sets pods easily."

I had to fight hard to get both sets of seeds on the LA. On the above seeds there were 11 bids.

I also brought a 3rd seed lot from Ed which I haven't started yet. I brought these seeds in hopes that I could get some fabulous teeth.

EdBurton said:"Something In MY Teeth" is one of the best I've seen in northern hardy, maybe the best.
I'm spreading the pollen on everything, I also listed a bunch of seeds on the auction, the genetics need to get out. <Nate agreed with me< Awesome daylily for the north

I've been the beneficiary of some of that "spreading it on everything" and am really looking forward to seeing what comes of it! Won't be planting them for a while yet as spring is still way off but the itch to plant is getting stronger daily. Got some of The Venus Envy crosses you did too!

I think impressionistic is a good descriptive word for B-25-a.

I got an E-mail from Greg, a month or so into my listings about the 3 (New Tangerine Twist X Wild Child) seedlings.
Me and Greg go back several years with plant and seed swaps, I think that he may be a little rueful about giving them away after seeing my pictures.
Just so you all know, I'm sending him half of my 2014 intro "Appleton Sweet Start"
Also some of the seedlings he got out of seed from me in the past have me a little rueful myself :~) so we are even and happy.
I still think about that B-25-a, it was a runt when Greg sent it, I asked him about the small fan by itself, he told me to toss it, well it's a good thing I don't toss un-bloomed plants.
I really don't think Greg ever saw that one bloom, it didn't look like any of the pictures he had shared with me.
I still like it the best after looking at it again in Alexandra's post, just a super nice plant that I hope keeps up with what I saw last summer.
I guess when it increases I better send him a piece back.

I have seen a few pictures of a seedling out of Something In My Teeth, from a buyer that got second year bloom from a cross with Ruffled Strawberry Parfait that had so many teeth it looked dangerous.
I only wish I could get reliable second year bloom, real rare sight here when it does happen.
Someone in a facebook group asked me if I would pay the price that Nate was asking for a single fan, after thinking about it a bit, my answer to him was that I wouldn't sell any of my 3 fans for that.

Venus Envy doesn't take a back seat to anything in that color range growing here now.
Sherm was getting 3 sets of instant re-bloom where he was growing it in Pennsylvania, so he decided to test it where re-bloom is rarer than a 60 degree day in January, sadly I had to tell Sherm that I would be looking towards the next 60 degree day in January in NE, WI, no re-bloom for me.

I hope that you all share pictures when you get bloom, feedback like that can save me years of trial and error.
Thanks all
Ed

Ed….Love the story about how you and your friend, Greg, share seedlings. I, also, feel if Greg had seen B-25-a he might not have been so quick to share it with you. Hurray! For the 'runts' in the liter!! It really is quite unusual with it's paintbrush Monet-like blending of colors. I don't want it to change one bit. I will plant all 5 seeds in hopes to get one that looks just like your pix. Thumbs up
