I'm glad to hear that my aunt's perspective was skewed!

I worked in a town in NJ once, called Mahwah. People said that it was an Indian word meaning "small lots and high taxes".

Great info - my trellis (homemade from cedar boughs many years ago) succumbed to one of our windstorms and I will need to rebuild something or the other. I cut both side plants down to about 4' (honeysuckle on one side, jasmine on the other) and hope they will both recover. I like the looks of a metal trellis, but find my gate opening is not matching up well to what's available. May need to do some tinkering. I actually could use a new gate as well and I love the metal trellis/gate combos. Dreaming away...

Rick - perhaps your aunt worked in an area where there were problems with repeat offenders and family issues. It isn't unusual anywhere.

Funny about Mahwah!

Deb - sorry to hear the winds and storms wreaked havoc on your trellis. Winter is a good time for dreaming.

One wind storm took down the top of a copper trellis my husband made. It was sad to see how the top collapsed. He removed it and now it's a "window" at the potting bench.
