I am looking for the colors of red Blushing Susie vine if any one has seeds. I have some seeds just getting started in collecting my seeds for trade.

Ooh, Black-Eyed Susan Vine (Thunbergia alata 'Blushing Susie') sure is pretty! I might have to purchase seeds of that one ... love the colors!

I couldn't find any seeds for that one available, but I did order some of the ones from Swallowtail. Been wanting to try Thunbergia anyway. Only 10 seeds to a packet, tho. grrrr...

I was googling and really surprised to see that the packets only contained 8 to 10 seeds! Years ago I purchased T. alata seeds and three were lots of seeds in one pack. I had a greenhouse back then and the Thunbergia trailed out of the pots and all over inside the greenhouse; it sure was pretty! Lovey dubby

I had T. alata growing in a corner of the backyard at one time too; I'd sown the seeds in trays but ended up dumping them in the backyard where they grew and twined up into some shrubs.

I got those Thunbergia from Swallowtail last year. Unfortunately I planted late so they never blossomed for me. I had them in a planter box so I moved the box under the deck for protection, thinking they may survive but this winter has been unusually cold so they didn't. I think I have about four seeds left to try again this year.

Just ordered 100 seeds for 12.00 with no shipping from Hazzard. I did buy a small pack earlier, but only 2 sprouted. They don't bloom until almost August for me, but they are so worth planting.

I agree, lovely photo Teri! Lovey dubby The Thunbergia looks great with the blue morning glories. I really adore that color combo.

Lin, I bet Teri meant Harris Seed. They have those seed and had a free shipping code that just ended on the 20th.

You're right, Danita! I'm terrible with trying to remember names. I should have looked back at my order. I definitely need to have lots of these sprouting by the week before Memorial Day. We are having our annual plant swap then, and I am always expected to bring these vines and all different kinds of Lisianthus, among other things.

Wow, you Guys!! Thanks for the thumbs up and for the generous Acorn that I received from Song of Joy. I'm just getting really familiar with these offerings and keep forgetting to use them.

Teri, have you been able to collect seeds from the plants you grow? I'll be growing them for the first time this year (thanks for reminding me I need to get them started!) and was wondering about that.

Once I tied empty, dried teabags around the blooms that were on their way out. It was the only way that I could catch them at the right time before they popped and became lost. That was 3 years ago. I'm usually too busy at the end of the summer or early fall when most of my grand kids needs baby sitting at one time or another.

Thanks! I'll try to keep an eye on them, since I don't have to worry about grandkids. Smiling

Fyi, for anyone looking for Thunbergia alata 'Spanish Eyes'... I was at Lowe's today and they had packs on the Burpee rack. It felt like there were about 10 seeds in the pack and they were $2.49. Smiling
