funny, but somebody just posted about reusing fan-grid. that would be quite suitable!

I ended up using an Orchid basket and took a couple of cedar slats and tacked them on one end over the top. It's working great. The plant has grown roots all around now too so it's pretty firmly attached.
I like that fan cage idea tho. I'll definitely keep that in mind for a future project.
