That is beautiful Katie. What type of fencing is your clematis wall made of?

Not sure if this was mentioned before - but Dirtdolphins - another way in which to tell the pruning group is by the time of year that your clematis flowers. You are in the same zone as I, so your type 1's will be first. April/May or so - depending on how long Spring takes to arrive. Type 2's will be late May, around Memorial Day and into early June and then again about Septemberish. The type 3's will flower late June into July.

I think it's time for me to concentrate on the type 3's, though I should be concentrating on where to move the ones that I'd like to be more prominent and less hidden.
