Name: Elaine Sarasota, Fl The one constant in life is change
A friend and I ventured down to Venice for their annual show today and had a lovely time. I was marveling at the number of peachy cultivars that seem to be appearing. It seems the hybridizers have been working towards more of this color maybe? Sorry for the cell phone picture quality, the light was highly variable, and people kept jostling me. I tried to get some name tags, but it was equally difficult.
In the middle of this blurry shot (to the left of the white Phal) is a magnificent spike of Recha. Frances Fox about 3ft tall. I'd no idea it got so big. See "I just bought" for a better picture . ..
This lovely white Den was an enormous plant up on the top of a pillar, so I couldn't get close enough to read the tag.The flower scapes were each at least 3ft. long.
The dark red one below is a Chocolate Drop x C Warpaint. Next one is L. Santa Barbara Sunset 'Showtime' very aptly named!

Truly beautiful Elaine, Feb is going to be the start of 6 more weeks of winter and we really have had a hard winter so far. This brightens my day!
Anyone answer a question for me on the C Walkeriana crosses? Where does the inforesence come from when Walkeriana is crossed, from the basal area of newest PB or from the apex/leaf base? I don't grow warm growing catts like violacea, ect because I have killed so many in the last 30 years, and have also stayed away from plants that prefer mounting since I can't be home always to water. But since I got my first Vanda and am home now I thought I would try mounting types again.
