A friend gave me the central plant in this picture a few months ago and told me it was a 'Paw Cactus'.
Does anyone know a better name?

They are true xerophytes!
They have a short root system of very succulent roots...
I don't water mine if the leaves are turgid!
Yours looks like it would like some sun...I kinna have the same look myself this winter!

Mine is growing in pure oyster shell so far and existing without rot. They hate full Sun here in Florida ( I almost lost it in August) and need to be kept somewhat shaded in the middle of the day. Its actually doing well!
