Just beautiful Sharon, I especially like that last one, what an intense red against the white ice and snow those cardinals are!
Stay warm in confidence that this winter will soon pass and you will soon be enjoying real blooms!

A pair of doves are here this morning, along with juncos and chickadees, dozens of cardinals, some kind of blackbirds, and something coal black with a little band of white lining his wings. More, as well, but some are out of town visitors, I think, because I don't recognize them. I did get more pictures today, but the doves are so shy. I think I might have missed them.

Worst winter in years but my daughter reminded me of pictures taken the year she was 2 and her brother was 4, the snow was higher than they were tall. I reminded her that she would have been 2 in 1978. That's been awhile.

Something about all this snow for all these weeks tells me that a drought is not in our near future.
Maybe.

Thanks ladies, glad you enjoyed my 'blooms'. Smiling

Sharon I too agree, that you are so blessed to have the variety of wild ones right outside your windows. Hurray! Hurray!

Am so glad you were prudent enough to realize walking on ice is not a good thing.

Your kindness to your feathered friends is a good example to us all. I tip my hat to you. I tip my hat to you.

Those red birds must surely get your creative juices running. Have you painted them?

Thanks for sharing ......

I'm planning to paint some of these bird pictures, maybe the squirrel that you see in today's blog post. I have given or sold all the other critter paintings, but I'll search to see if I have digital pictures of any of them.

Anyway, this was the last painting I did; a Christmas gift to my son. Thanks for asking about my paintings!

@Toni what beautiful words to read this morning! Thank you so much. The birds and the paintings carried me through our wretched winter; weather like that is just about as tough on gardeners as it is on the plants. Happily we all usually survive.

I'm glad you found ATP, it's a great place to learn so many new and interesting things but it's also a little like feeling right at home.
So nice to have you with us.
Happy Friday!
