This PRI article suggests a practical way to employ no til in an agricultural situation. (In a small bed, there is just a lot of stomping!)

I went to the socal permacutlture conference last year and attended a lecture on soil and i was amazed to find how much life was found in the soil. She showed how tilling broke apart this beautiful symbiosis that was happening. It was really eye opening.

It is amazing. And what is even more amazing is that those critters in the soil are also essential to our health. Humans did not evolve independent of our environment. Skin does not make for independence!
