Yup. It is still there. Neat pictures. such a variety of ways to do self watering buckets. Your cousin owes you big time! I see plywood under the buckets. Is that to keep them stable if they overflow? So the ground beneath doesn't become saturated and tip the bucket?

Oberon46,
A storage shed stood on the site where the eBuckets are in the pic. I wanted to keep the soil as pristine and weed free as I could until I could build my raised beds on the same site. I laid down weed block. The plywood was to set the eBuckets level on a bumpy patch.

If I had my preference, I'd set all my eBuckets on another concrete pad. I had one when I was gardening at another location. I loved that the eBuckets all sat level, and, at the end of the day, all I had to do was hose off the pad. Everything was so neat and orderly. Nice even rows of eBuckets, and, I was able to sprinkle some Sluggo Plus around the perimeter of the pad.

No roly poly pill bugs or slugs...ever... I tip my hat to you.

A concrete slab (or driveway) is the bomb for something like that. Thumbs up

You still have to get to the inner buckets to add water but that is a neat idea. For sun, I would have to have single pavers scattered around the garden in strategic spots. I like the idea of scattering sluggo around the bases. You would use less and protect your vegies from those voracious (at least ours are) slugs. The was the big push for a raised bed. I am going to put copper wire around the edges of my three raised beds and hope it isn't too late. If they have already invaded last fall I will just scatter sluggo in the beds to irradicate them.

Sorry, Mary Stella!
That wasn't the pic with the neat walking spaces between the rows of eBuckets, LOL! Rolling my eyes.

Linda,

I think that 15+5+5 is a lot of buckets. Sixty buckets is simply INSANE!. Smiling

Deb,

I put some Earthbox self-watering containers together today in preparation for my limited tomato crop this year. A pictorial of the process is on the containers forum. Here's a link to it:

David,

Sometimes, "a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!" *Blush*

My husband's love affair with his St. Augustine grass caused me to find another way to grow veggies. Whistling

I enjoyed every one of those eBuckets -- especially what came out of them, LOL! Thumbs up

I have a couple of EarthBox "knock offs" (Grow Box by Garden Patch) sitting behind my shed. I haven't used them for a few years but I was thinking about trying some lettuce and radishes in them this year. The tutorial is great-thanks for the link!
