These two common garden herbs are useful both for adding flavor to our cooking and for attracting butterflies to our gardens as host plants.

Nice article, Rita. I found out that parsley is also good for goats. I was growing some and my son asked me if I had any more (I didn't). But this year I will grow a lot more. My son told me that parsley aids in digestion and is often included as part of herbal wormers for ruminant animals. I also read that parsley has also been credited with curing foot-rot in sheep and goats.

So I'll plant it for us, the butterflies and the goats!

I don't have a lot of luck germinating it though. Someone gave me two plants and they lasted quite awhile but I think this winter got to them. Maybe they reseeded though!
