Start Your Seeds with a Moist Mixture

It is important to moisten your seed-starting medium before you start your seeds. After adding water, use a potato masher to completely mix the seed-starting mixture or peat-based potting mixes. It's much easier and quicker!

Heard an idea that sounds wonderful at our last Brazoria County Master Gardeners meeting. . Take your ice cube trays, put six seed in each and fill with water and freeze. When you have your beds ready for planting your seeds, drop the ice cubes into your holes and be sure to water more when the soil sinks after the ice cube melts. They should be watered at least every two days. Judy Rogers-Parker
