What does indeterminate and determinate mean and why is the differentiation significant?
The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.

An easy way to think of it is: indeterminate = vine and determinate = bush

An indeterminate variety will keep growing and producing new flowers & tomatoes throughout the growing season
A determinate variety will grow to a set height and essentially produces one crop

Also, another reason it is significant, because an indeterminate tomato can be overwintered to help the possibility of early tomatoes Hurray! Hurray!

Thanks Joanne and Toni. I am glad I asked you. I thought I had worked out what they meant but was quite wrong. *Blush*
