We've had a wet winter and apparently the daylilies are happy for it. This morning I found baby scapes on Sea Shell Lullaby and Dragonfly Dawn. Both plants were purchased from Michele and arrived here mid Nov. They have settled in really well and appear to be happy! Hurray!
Both are Trimmer introductions and his operation is on the west side of Volusia County. I live on the east side of the same county. I think they believe they have come home! I can expect blooms in about 4 weeks.

Thanks Michele!!

Come on spring ..... over here ..... come on!

I have a few tiny little yellow crocuses. It gives me hope. Some tulip leaves are just starting out of the ground, and I think the others are daffodils. My daylilies are all completely flat and still sleeping.

Dorothy, I do understand. I grew up in Denver, CO--spent 35 yr there. Sometimes I thought spring would never arrived. Remember being snowed on as we moved into a new home in early June. Crying Don't miss it at all!

Take care and keep the faith!

You are welcome Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!

We had another freeze last night and suppose to get down to 33 tonight so I don't think we will have blooms anytime soon. At this rate we will be lucky to have scapes coming up in April.

How exciting, Arlene! Winter keeps coming back here again and again with a vengeance, so my daylilies will likely be late this year.

Yes, Michele, I thought you were at least half way down Florida too! I once spent a couple weeks in Gulf Shores - you are pretty close to there. It was beautiful there!

Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Jamie Gossard thought the same thing about where I lived. He was going to take my plants to Kinnebrew's when he was there for me to pick up and we had to convince him I was nowhere close to them. He kept saying that I was right there Hilarious!

They love the rain, fertilizer and the recent warm weather.

Does it make you feel better to know that I got on my knees and gave them a group hug??? Being careful, of course, not to crush those lovely leaves. Anyway, here is a picture of a garden buddy in the beds. These plants are rocking and rolling and he's having a nice glass of wine and a bit of cheese. That's life in the daylily garden!
