Poor thing hit a wall or window at work today. Dazed. He was laying on the ground on is side, drooling. I thought he was a gonner. Over time he came to and eventually flew onto a nearby branch. All is well.Thumb of 2010-08-31/Aguane/af2f1c

It's probably lucky you found it before something else did. Somebody mentioned to me recently that hummers can not walk. Their legs are only for perching. Have you ever heard this before?
Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting ‘...Holy Crap ...What a ride!'

I have heard that, Dan.
Birdlady would know!!
He did not walk at all... only lifted himself from a laying on his side position to standing... never walked.... then after 45 minutes flew to a nearby branch. I stayed with him for fear a predator would find him. We have lots of Roadrunners around the AMEX campus. He is safe now.

This morning when I was admiring all of my Morning glories I had at least 3 hummers come visti but they weren't thrilled I was right by the feeder...a little fluttery fight in mid air!

Good going Susie! You are that hummer's heroine for sure!
