The vast expanse of lawn behind this perennial garden isnt mine.
The raised bed belongs to the neighbor and is a weed kingdom that is his.He raises Black Raspberries there.

We grew black raspberries for a few years but their canes are long and will root whenever they touch the earth. I removed the whole patch, about 4 x 15', and I was happy to see them being carted off to the dump. It's easier to buy them locally at farm stands than to grow them. Weeds seem to be attracted to the area since only the brave will get down on their knees to remove any weeds due to the thorns on the canes.

I needed to make the note as to property.At least 5 people remark on how much land we have ,just trying to set the record strait.
The Black raspberries they grow are full of seeds and bitter.
When the neighbors seven kids lived at home they tended the canes and picked the berries.The last one went to college last fall so now the patch just goes wild.

They call the views, which are really that of our neighbor's, "borrowed landscaping".

I agree. I do love that long plain as a feature behind the east side gardens with bear.
