Greg, Thumbs up I totally agree with you. Thumbs up There is too much anger, grief, strife and negativism as theings stand. We all need to lighten up !
At our ranchiito we do NOT keep bees.
They and other critters grace us with their presence, and we provide for their need to the best of our abilities.

Puttering in my yard totally lightens me up Lavanda!! I often wonder if I "needed" to eat what I grow, would it be less fulfilling for me, but as it is - its so wonderful!! I grow lots of sempervivum, and sedum, and our weather has been warming up, so the plants are coming out of dormancy and this is the time of year that the semps color up - they are looking so wonderful!! Its such a thrill, going to the beds and not knowing what I'll see! Hurray!

My seeds came today!
They are very small, only slightly bigger than sempervivum seed. There were about 20 in the packet so I've sown 8 to see how they do and will keep the rest until the autumn. Being so small I've surface sown, I don't know if that was the right way to go but if they don't take I can always cover them later on.

Bee Lover
About those seeds - an educated guess?

1. Bulb plants usually make seeds, too. I collected Paperwhite seeds this year. (Why? Because they were there.)
2. The Moraea family includes Fortnight Lily, which delivers some the the hardest, most persistent seeds known to man. In general, South African plants make seeds that will wait out many a bad summer till the rains come. Pretty tough plants!

I'm guessing your seeds will be just fine as long as they're kept dry and cool. Glass jar in the fridge.

I'm jealous.
