Is this not a Polystichum acrostichoides?



Someone has questioned the identity of the Christmas Fern photos posted by Pirl in this entry:

Christmas Fern (Polystichum acrostichoides)

There are several photos, including some nice ones showing the plant emerging from dormancy. I'd rather keep them in the database than delete them, so I hope someone can come up with a more accurate ID.

Looks good to me, Woofie, but I know nothing about ferns. Can anyone else confirm this guess?

But you're right Zuzu, Christmas fern is one-pinnate. Not at all like Pirl's pic.

I still hope to go to the fern farm next week, I have a picture of pirls fern printed out to take with me, hopefully they will recognize it.

That would be great! I'm in the market for ferns and pirls is very nice. Assuming if would tolerate our winters.
