Thank you, Bonnie. Taking photos of what grows in my yard is one of my great pleasures. Hope to one day have a camera that picks up purples correctly, but I got pretty close manipulating these two.

Debra beautiful pictures I can't wait to see something at home that look like your clump picture, long ways away from seeing any stalks here right now just happy to see anything green after this miserable winter. Purple and Blues are the hardest to photograph and get the true colors especially the darker ones at least for me, most of mine have turned out better on a cloudy day or late in the day before the sun goes down.

Debra: The reds seem to dissappear. I use a Canon SE little hand held the size of a smart phone.
I try to color correct the special images .I use a editing software program. FS Viewer.I think its a free download.

Arlyn It was at 2:00am this morning tending to boy-child when I realized the brown in that purple iris photo is more saturated that is actual. Forgot manipulating the color to get purple instead of the blue would affect the other colors, too. It is brown, just not as dark and as strong.

Some more of the irises I sent to Arizona has bloomed, it's Breakers and change of pace.
A local gardener told her she was wasting her time trying to get iris to grow, but she was bound to prove her wrong.

Posted a similar one yesterday, but this plant next to it had richer coloring and the photo captured those funky colored tips on the beard.

Great picture, Debra. Those are great beards on what is already a pretty great flower! It's sort of reminiscent of Circus Stripes and other "striped" irises, one of my favorite types. Thanks for posting.

Cloudy this morning, but the partly opened ones looked so fun, like they were a theatre audience leaning into the performance. Marking each at the base as they flower so I know what I am digging later.
