Are these just different names for the same plant?
Cisanthe is said to be a purslane?
I am confused about all these.
I have seeds for Cisanthe grandiflora, and in trying to find seed germination information,---I have come across a mix of these names?

Calandrinia grandiflora is a cousin to the purslane and portulaca we all love here Caroline.

It is part of the family tree of the Portulacaceae family and sometimes people call it rock purslane too. The leaves are grey-green and the blooms are higher on taller stems.

Purslane/portulaca is a variety of plants that gets confusing because they are kin but not the same but still, are are succulents. People are often calling everything purslane or portulaca but usually I say nothing unless they want to know the real plant. Whistling You know how people call anything with narrow petals groupsed aroudn a center a daisy? That is what happenes with purslane.

Cisanthe grandiflora is the same as Calandrinia. Just another name for it.

I did go to You tube for you to see if I could find out more:

Here you go:

and here is one on my favorite, purslane:

Okay,--- I think that Cisanthe is a purslane--a rock purslane?
The last time I had Cisanthe seeds---I thought they were a direct sown wild flower.
Now I will treat as a rock plant and sow it in gritty soil.

Yes--will post pictures when it grows and blooms.
I do not expect it to be perennial here, but I may save seeds.
