No offense to the site setup, I was just curious how and why things work the way they do. Group hug

@chickhill,
Why not wait a while until you get to know the site better. I am sure you will find that it runs pretty darn good.

I tried putting a link to a photo in my comments and it worked just fine. Takes up a bit of room, tho.

I actually don't think that looks too bad. At least we know that option can work for those that would like to be able to use it.

Bravo on problem solving work-arounds. Should fit the bill for those who prefer to see their own photo, or perhaps simply like a different photo than the featured one.

@woofie was showing the Lists view from her management control panel, where the BB Code was enabled. The public view was not enabled.

I have since changed that and the bb code should now work. Thumbs up

Excellent. Nice work, as always, Dave! I hope this option will fill the original poster's needs.

So glad I read through this thread. I am now slowly in the process (rainy days only) of inserting my own personal plant photos into the comment section of My List and I love this! My goal is to have a bloom closeup and a whole plant photo of each of my personal plants for reference. One of fall color if that is significant. I'm also rather liking how the little thumbnail occasionally changes based on new photos added to the database.

Can someone guide me to the tutorial on BB code? I'm clueless and would like to use it sometime.

let's see which of these links works:

~~ ATP BB Codes ~~

... good.

If you remove the spaces after the square brackets below, you could add it to your signature block where it will always be handy for reference.

I just added the link to my custom menu bar, because I'd have no idea how to find it. Maybe add it to the "Goodies?"

That was the first place I checked for it

I was about to say "let's hunt around, because Dave is sure to have put links SOMEwhere that will be obvious after we find it."

I used to have the BB Code link in my Signature block (back in the olden days Before the Customizable Menu Bar, BCMB).

Now I have a long CMB plus a doc that is nothing but an archive of every version of sig block I've had here.

I even have a CMB link for "edit my blog" to save myself a click or two.
I think that is the same link for everyone: it takes them to THEIR "manage my blog" page:

http://garden.org/blogs/manage...

While I was busy adding info to lettuce entries, I had separate CMB links for "Lettuces Database" and "Add Lettuce Cultivar". My vague memory was that it would remember "Lettuce" and [i]"Lactuca sativa"[/u] for me, but I don't see that now. Maybe it was only "sticky" during one ATP session.

Q: Why are lost things always found in the last place you look for them?
A: Because, after you find them, you stop looking.
