I have photos of this plant labeled as harissii, but what is the genus name?

That's it, it's a Harrisia, not a harissii. I might have the species name over at DG, since I got the genus name there years ago. I'll check their plant files and see if I posted the pictures there under any Harrisia.

It's a Harrisia taylorii, aka Cereus taylorii.

Kelli, the information classifying it as a synonym for Cereus taylorii probably came from The Plant List, where the source of the information is dated 1908. According to more recent data, Harrisia taylorii is an accepted name.
