I have two of these beautiful Snowball Trees, or Bushes, when I look them up on the internet mine looks more tree like than most, and the leaves appear different to me. What is the real name of this plant?

But see how different the leaves look in that picture, and this has no red berries.

It's certainly a Viburnum, but is more likely to be Viburnum plicatum than V. opulus.

KentPfeiffer,
Yes, that looks much more like it. There appear to be several different Viburnum plicatum varieties any ideas which one this might be?

Humm... To me it looks like Viburnum plicatum v. plicatum, did I do that right?

Do you think the Cultivar would be 'Grandiflorum’ ? Sounds like it to me.

The leaves on your plant don't have deep veining Seedfork.

I found one which it 'might' be, Viburnum macrocephalum ..

JRsbugs,
OK, I think that is it. The larger flower size, the taller plant height, and the leaves make this the correct choice in my opinion (which has changed about three times now), so I am calling it solved, it is Viburnum macrocephalum 'sterile'.
Thanks to everyone for all the help in finding the correct names for some of my plants, it is very much appreciated. I know it takes time to look at all the photos.
Dang..I may have jumped the gun on that ID, went over to enter my pictures and saw the bright red looking foliage on Viburnum macrocephalum 'sterile'. I know my observation and memory or pretty poor, but I never recall seeing the leaves change to that color.

I think it's more than likely the photos in the plant files are not Viburnum macrocephalum 'sterile', the leaves are not simple for a start.

There is no mention on this seller here of autumn colour for this species, but there is of other species.

JRsbugs,
Ok, now I am reassured and feel very confident that this is the correct ID, so I am posting my pics, thanks again. You have been ever so helpful.

Now what to do with the incorrect photos.

I'll contact @valleylynn to see if she has any other ideas on what it could be before going on a hunt.

Adding link to the entry.

Chinese Snowball Viburnum (Viburnum macrocephalum 'Sterile')

I just noticed a post under Lynn's photos, she has said it is wrongly named.

I have it in my records as being Viburnum opulus 'Roseum'

I will leave it to Lynn to move the entry as I have summonsed her.

It looks like that error was discovered back in Jan. 2013 and something never got shifted back.

Good morning Janet. Thank you for the call.
I thought it had all been taken care of. Sorry about that. I submitted that all three photos be moved to Viburnum opulus 'Roseum'.
This has been a most beautiful tree/bush, with lovely bark in the dormant season.

Good afternoon Lynn, thanks for that! Thumbs up

From what I have read it was supposed to have been moved by VV, where is he?

I don't know. That was a long time ago. I forgot all about it. *Blush*
