I love Brave Face, reminds me of Pop Idol a lot, which won't grow for me. And of course Staring, I've had that for about 4 seasons, and it bloomed twice. Not sure if I'll see it this summer or not, but I sure like it. Thanks for sharing Stacy.

No wonder it reminds me of Pop Idol, it's one of the parents of it! Does it grow well for you?

I did have Sugar Magnolia but lost track of it somehow. I took that photo at Winterberry Iris Gardens (Don & Ginny Spoon) a couple years ago. Unfortunately Starring & Brave Face haven't been real strong growers up here in southern Pennsylvania. I'm sure the genetic material they inherit must have some factor in why some iris are strong growers and some aren't.

Also we are moving them from climate to climate zone. they are usually fine where they are hybridized.

Lucy, you are right about the climate difference. I have a hard time getting the Australian iris to do very well in my garden, do you have trouble with them up in your part of the country, too?

Barry Blyth iris do fine in my garden and I grow and enjoy a number of them. I have purchased them from Keppel, Ghio. and Superstion who all had probably grown them a year or two. Last year I planted Capt. Thunderbolt and Serena Louisa. They both look like they will bloom this year and one has 3 increases and the other 4. Here is an amoena from Blyth...Merry Amigo

Being median people, we grow Blyth SDBs & IBs. TB growth depends on the plant.

Thanks Paul, I keep liking that seedling, when are you going to register it?

Most of Blyth's irises do just fine here

I'll agree with Mary Ann on that first seedling, Paul! Just looking at the flower, I would say it's as nice, or nicer, than lot's of the "new intros" that I've seen..... Thumbs up ....Arlyn

This was amusing. First photo is from two days ago--Puddy Tat twins. Second from this morning. One has blossomed forth, waiting to see the fate of the other. Smiling
