We are having a cool, rainy week so things have stalled. I cut one partially open Hot Chocolate bloom and brought it inside. May be fully open tomorrow.

frillymilly, I have a NOID peony that might be the Dancing Butterflies. What do you think? Is color on mine to dark?

This is my Hot Chocolate bloom in a small vase. It is difficult to capture the very dark red beet color but it is one of my favorite peonies.

Oh how neat. It is one of the three I have coming this fall. Have to decide on where to put the holes for them.

looks like a possiblity, hard to tell, the blooms of course open fairly richly colored and then fade as they age like many flowers do. The best way to know for sure if you MUST have a name Smiling is to buy a DB and compare them. I do think your blossom looks a little purplish compared to mine. but that could be the camera, shade, soil difference, ect

Thought I would post some pictures of my peonies before a rainstorm takes them down. All are just ho-hum types except for a couple. The Hot Chocolate is really a deep beet red but the camera cannot capture its true color.

I will try to get more pics with names applied. I think there are 5 or 6 with true names from major vendors but most are of the walmart or lowes types.

Oh my gosh, they are beautiful! I'd love to know the names of the flowers in your 3rd, 4th, and 5th pic. I'm immediately drawn to those shades of pink.

These are the only names I can give. The others were from unreliable sources and are just noids. First one is 'Chestine Gowdy'. Has the old-fashioned fragrance.
Thumb of 2014-05-24/Oldgardenrose/daa446

Second is 'Hermione'.

Thumb of 2014-05-24/Oldgardenrose/0bd4f0

Third is 'Lavon'. One of the best light colored peonies I have seen.

Fourth is 'Fragrans'

Fifth could be 'Emile Debatene' but not 100% certain. Bought it at a Lowes or Walmart.

The others are noids.

If I counted corectly, the last is 'Hot Chocolate'. The strange weather has made them all very late to bloom so they deteriorate quickly.

Whatever the names are, they are gorgeous! Some of your NOIDs may be Sarah Bernhardt. Number 3 may be Sorbet. Keep posting those beautiful blooms.

Many nice seed pods on my Roselette. It is said to be sterile so the pods may be empty. Possibly a natural cross with the nearby Early Scout since both have P.tenuifolia in their pedigree.
