This spring, it seems like we don't get any rain for long periods of time...and then when it rains, it pours! By my place today, where the road crosses the dry creek (now very wet!). Pic below shows the upstream side of the road. We had a total of about 4.6 inches today and most of the day had a brownout. Power is back now and glad of that!

And here is the downstream side of the road. Someone who got through to deliver something this morning said the other creek crossing farther downstream from us was about one foot over the road according to the marker. From very early a.m. hours to when it slowed down in the afternoon, there was thunder going on almost the whole time. But we were lucky...other parts of Medina Co. got much worse weather than we did. Now, I'll enjoy a weekend without worrying about watering any plants!

We had a lot of rain for a while, but lately it has been dry and very windy in the center of Texas. We are watching a strong line of storms coming in slowly from the west and hoping they don't fizzle before they get here. A good soaking would be a blessing! Our cows still have green pastures, but we always want a bit more rain to insure that they eat well all summer and the hay crop is good.

I hope you get some rain! But not too much. That's what bothers me. If these rains were spread out a bit over a few weeks, it would be so much better! Kind of feast and famine around here, you know.

Linda, stay safe! Glad you've got your power back.

We got about 1.25" of the wet stuff yesterday afternoon. I'd like a bit more, preferably not the driving, pounding rain with high winds stuff we got yesterday.

When I lived in Kerrville, I lived on the other side of the river and work was in the downtown area. I watched the Guadalupe closely as if it flooded, I had to use the big bridge which was out of the way and usually added about 10 mins to my "commute".

We got some more rain last night, but not very much...total so far would be 5 1/2 inches since this started. Then the sun came out and it was sunny the rest of the day. Went from dry and crispy to wet and soggy. Too many weeds this year!

Yes, I guess I can't forget that! Bad enough when it's cloudy, but when the sun comes out with such extreme humidity, it's unbearable! The vacant property next door has been taken over by a huge jungle of weeds...not to mention the junk the owners left. I don't know when the bank will actually foreclose on it, but it's been vacant since last October. And people occasionally use the place for whatever...I hate to see that happen!

I heard that some areas along the Guadalupe River are being evactuated because of flooding. RV's floated off at one place.
