Beautiful, Alan. BTW...would you know where I could get a Crimson Glory Climber...reasonably?

My DH had some at our home in Virginia...I would love to plant one in his memory here. I hate to pay a lot for something I don't know if I can grow or not. Jo

Gosh, that is such an old rose. I'm guessing it would be hard to find in the nurseries, so you would have to order it online. I found a list of nurseries that carry it here:

http://www.helpmefind.com/rose...

Odds are none of these nurseries will have it grafted, it will be on it's own roots, so you will get a small plant. It should grow fine here. It is a Hybrid Tea climber, a sport of a regular hybrid tea.

I loved this arrangement when I received it. It was very lush, about 12 inches in diameter and great fragrance. Can't remember the florist but it was a long lasting nice arrangement. Roses, and some filler. I liked it most because it was in a relatively short vase, and compact. I have no idea what type of roses.. wouldn't it be nice if when you receive a gift of flowers the card ALSO stated what flowers and foliage was included? Smiling

That's beautiful! Does anyone else here grow florist roses. I only have one. Ginger Hill. Wonderfully fragrant, and a nice ivory, with soft blushes of pink. A very victorian looking rose. Most florist roses I've tried growing in my garden, just cannot handle our climate, and the blooms never open as nicely.

I've included a picture of Ginger HIll. Makes wonderful arrangments.

I was at the Marquesa (Princess or Fairmont on Scottsdale Rd. a year or so ago.... Marquesa has closed unfortunately... my fave brunch) But.... they had these fab looking russet orange large buds at all dining tables. I asked about them... waiter said they had a grower in south west AZ ... don't remember where. They were really unique and pretty. Always the same russet edged orange roses, buds. Tuscan or Castillian looking.
