It sure has changed Jo Ann, and looking really good. What is the plant at the end, with the yellow blooms?

That is totally sweet. It seems it would be fairly shallow rooted and easy to remove from places you don't want it to grow.
Great choice.

Lynn: When I said spread I meant flopping . Alpine plants are totaly new to me.
I have several Achillea varieties most are deeper rooted plants. This one will be interesting to watch.

I have that one on my table garden and it is blooming now. I do hope it makes seed that I can collect.

I think it will become less floppy as it matures and gets lots of sunshine.
How is yours growing Connie? Can you show us a photo?

Love it Connie.
Jo Ann yours will become more compact with lots of sun and settling in. Great plant, and it's going to be awesome in that container.

Here is a wider view of the achillea with its companion plants. I am so happy and pleased with the table garden now. I just want to go out and gaze at it but the neighbors will think I am nuts. It is really colorful now. Lovey dubby

Yeah, go for it, Connie and admire away. From what I can see of that table garden, it looks most interesting!! Is there more to that landscaping/planting bed?

Yeah, there is more to it... it is 8 feet long and 4+ feet wide. You can't tell from these photographs but it is about 2.5 feet above the ground. You just don't see it in the closeups. Big Grin

Ohhhh Connie.Thats just wonderful.
I cant wait to see mine in the coming seasons.
I have had to sprinkle Red Pepper flakes to keep squirrels off ALL planters on the deck. BUT some kritter is digging huge holes in them and spreading potting soil all over the place. I mean making an 18 inch planter half full.
I have sprayed repellant on and in the planters and put heavy objects on the,.
My guess is its a skunk in the middle of the night.
The only think in the planters now are glad bulbs and caladiums. After scooping the dirt and dumping back into the container I have no idea where the bulbs are.

Hopefully deeper in the planters. Could it be cats?

I have a question. How deep do you plant Caladium bulbs. I've never grown them. We are still getting down to low 40's at night, is it to cold to plant the Caladium?

Lynn> I wait until the second week of May usually.Night temps really fluctuate here but mostly they are averaging 50 *.
I plant a couple to three inches. The risk of planting too early is the cold and damp can rot the bulbs ( talking three weeks or late April ) . I have never had a problem with growth or anything.
I alsomark where the bulbs are so I dont plant annuals on top of them.
Good luck, once you start to grow them you will be hooked.

Wish I had taken photos. I had filled the big pots on the front porch. Planted caladiums and had a stick where they were located. Came out a few days later and the pots were half full and all thye dirt was on the porch.
What ever did this must have teetred on the rim and just dug with both arms head down, left a wide scatter pattern.
Next morning the pots on the deck end were half empty.
I mixed our hosehold compost with potting soil, that must have been whet attracted the kritter.
It was a nocturnal animal.
