I have tons and tons of plastic pots of all sizes and was running out of room on shelves to store them. I hit on the idea of using rebar and it works perfectly.

Or you'll poke your eye out! You could stick an old glove there, or a tennis ball, or cut a small section of a swim noodle.
You never know when somebody clumsy like me is going to bend over to pick something up and forget that bar is there.
I love the idea of stacking them securely that way. Mine blow around the yard so much that I had to train my retriever to retrieve them!! We have enough pots that if I stacked them this way and lined them up I could build a fence. Rolling my eyes. Hilarious!

That's a good idea!
Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
