Love the color contrast with the Lambs ears...and the lush roses and azaleas...

Thanks. I've only lived here two years so I have planted everything in the pictures except the mature trees, of course, and the azaleas. I just had to get the latter cut back and renewed a bit and going strong again.

I like the idea of this forum ... I am enthralled by cottage and informal gardens of all kinds. Looking forward to seeing the pictures here as well as being able to glean more ideas for my own yard.

Yes, and it is fun to see others gardens on a month by month basis, to see the differences in what is blooming in different parts of the country.

That azalea picture isn't from this month, of course, since azalea blooming time is past, but I love those things. The other shots are from this month.

Yesterday I dug 3 daylilies and moved from front to back yard. Way too hot for that!

The lambs ears, Monarda and Rudbeckia must be attracting hummers,butterflies and bees like mad.

Tons of buzzing creatures! The photo in the upper left is just the front of the house...it wraps around the entire house twice...against the house and along the edge of the property.

Gives me hope. I'm only 2 years into it. ;-)

Did you start out with bare ground, a field, grass, weeds, or what?


A new daylily for me ... H. 'Milk Chocolate' blooming it's little heart out in the heat today.

Started out with a large lawn...my technique is to just flip the sod over and plant it :))
