This is usually what I have by mid summer. We had a very mild winter, and it's planted in a protected spot.

I've never seen seed on it. And surely the hummer's would pollinate as they are all over it.

Yes, down here it does much better if it gets afternoon shade. I used to grow it where it almost full sun, but by mid to late summer it always looked pretty sad.

Much happier where it is now.

The only Salvia's I grow in full sun are the greggii's and microphylla's.

This is Hot Lips....(pardon the mess, was before I refreshed the mulch)
