I was sent a bonus gift a few years ago and sure know it is NOT what they labeled it: (THE FLOWER FORMERLY KNOWN AS GRIFF). It is quite interesting so if anyone could identify this....I am in zone 5A with clay loam soil...don't know if that would make a difference in color! Thanks so very much! Nancy

Hi Nancy! I agree, that isn't the one that you thought it was! Your soil could make a difference, but there is no way that it could make that much of a difference! I have no idea which daylily it is, and it may be impossible to find out, but it's always worth trying. It would be helpful if you could provide some stats on the plant. Bloom side and height would be great to know. That could narrow it down more, if someone thinks it is familiar.

my guess would be Destined To See, it is very common.

Does it rebloom, is it fragrant, is it a dormant or evergreen, height ect, would help to ID

Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Destined to See')

I don't think the eye pattern is pointy enough to be BEB?

Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Blue-eyed Butterfly')

Knowing where she got it from may help to narrow it down too. For instance if she called Company ABC they may say they never sold Daylily Whatever, and that would eliminate.

Did you contact the people you got it from? That would be the first thing to do… There are so many that look alike….

edited to say - re-read your post that this was a few years ago… so maybe they won't remember - but I would still try contacting them.

Also, if you bought from a seller who is online and keeps an electronic catalog, you might search through it again to see what cultivars they sell that might match? It is possible it wasn't a catalog cultivar, or that they've changed inventory, but it might still be a current offering that matches. I know I'd check out the ones people have mentioned, to see if it was in the seller's inventory, and if not, I'd re-check the rest of their offerings in search of a match. Thumbs up
