My neighbor wants to give me a Huge split leaf Philo and I am not sure if I can cut the long roots to move it.
I don't want to kill it as it is Beautiful.

Sandy, I wouldn't cut any roots if you can avoid it. Dig up as much as you can.

The long roots that come down from the trunk are so-called prop roots that help the plant to stand up but also supply nutrients. It will adapt much better if you can keep those and re-bury them in the new location.
